From 1st May 2017, Medibank and AHM made changes to the terms and conditions for participation, in their GapCover scheme.

Important changes to Medibank Private no-gap and known-gap T&Cs

 

 

A summary of these changes:

  • The provider agrees that they will not charge a member any other fees related to the episode of care for which a No Gap or Known Gap claim is made and there is no Medicare rebate for that service – such as a ‘booking fee’ or ‘administration fee’, whether arranging for the members admission to hospital or otherwise;
  • Several instances of changes to wording to more clearly articulate terms and outcomes of breach of terms;
  • Requirement to provide an email address; and
  • Changed wording for clarification around publication of participating providers
